DayBreaks
Between night and day there is dawn. A brief time in which the sun’s light begins to wrap around East facing peaks, diffuse through clouds, and create hues of pink, purple, and blue. In my photographic series Daybreaks, the sky is more than just a background; it’s the life of the project. Conversely, the mountains I photograph aren’t the singular subject of the series; they are merely a means to express the relationship between time of day and environment. I intentionally find synergetic scenes that interact with the sky during this fleeting moment, and create images that give a new perspective on how this brief yet special time of day affects our perception of the landscape and environment.
